Having the right tools around you makes life so much easier and allows you to do the job properly, not only for dismantling and assembling components, but also diagnosing faults.
This cylinder leakage tester allows you to get a really good indication on the current health and state of any engine, by only having to remove the spark plugs.
It’ll give you as a % a leakage figure, which will help you identify if there is internal damage and also which cylinder is at fault. It’ll also tell you if the damage is to the valve and valve seats, or the piston, bore and piston rings….or both! This will allow you to put a rebuild plan together without actually having to dismantle the engine.
You will need to have a workshop compressor to operate this tool.
