Product Description
Track use and higher power outputs can expose a shortfall in the standard Impreza sump pan: lateral forces during hard cornering push oil to one side of the pan (oil surge), which can starve the centrally positioned oil pick-up pipe and lead to a loss of oil pressure.
This baffled sump pan is designed to combat that effect. It starts life as a genuine Subaru oil pan, with the standard internal shelving removed and re-manufactured to accept a removable Group N alloy baffle insert. The insert restricts lateral oil movement and uses four heat- and oil-resistant nitrile one-way valve flaps on its top deck, allowing oil to return to the sump but not flow back out, which also helps reduce oil pooling in the cylinder heads under hard cornering.
An additional -8 boss is fitted for plumbing in a return-to-sump hose from an oil catch tank system.
Supplied with full installation instructions, 14 genuine Subaru sump bolts, and a magnetic sump plug, pre lock-wired.
