Product Description
The Subaru “flat-four boxer” engine layout is particularly prone to oil surge: under hard cornering, oil can move away from the sump and pool around the cylinder head castings, leaving less oil available at the pick-up pipe. If the pick-up pipe runs short of oil, engine components can be starved of lubrication and cooling.
This baffle plate fits over the sump like a lid, using one-way rubber flaps (diverters) that let oil into the sump but make it harder for oil to escape when cornering hard.
It is recommended for fast road, track day, rally and sprint use, and can be used alongside a baffled sump for further oil control, with a dry sump system as the next step up.
