Product Description
This Time-Sert thread repair kit is designed to restore stripped or damaged threads, particularly in softer alloys such as those found in Subaru calipers, cylinder block cases and gearbox cases.
A steel threaded insert is fitted into the damaged thread using the supplied tooling, then locked in place with an expansion tool, creating a repair that is stronger than the original thread. It is designed to withstand high continuous loads and repeated tightening and loosening of bolts.
The kit can be used in a range of base materials, including:
- Iron metals such as steel, stainless steel and cast iron
- Light metals such as aluminium, titanium and magnesium
- Non-ferrous metals such as brass, bronze, copper and zinc
- High-strength and synthetically hardened materials
The kit contains 120 repair inserts covering M5, M6, M8, M10 and M12 threads in metric fine, and is listed as a universal/service item across the Subaru model range.
