Product Description
Tumbler Generator Valves (TGVs) are fitted to Impreza WRX, Forester Turbo and Legacy GT models from 2001 onward, primarily to reduce cold-idle emissions. The standard TGV uses twin butterfly valves in each tumbler housing which restrict airflow even when fully open, and the associated sensors and motors are a common failure point.
This RCM TGV thermal delete kit removes the butterfly valves, sensors and motors for smooth, direct airflow, and adds heat spacers that help prevent heat from the cylinder head conducting into the alloy inlet manifold. ECU mapping will need to be adjusted after fitting to prevent a check-engine light.
Because the heat spacers increase manifold height, the kit includes a replacement bolt kit to maintain correct thread depth into the cylinder heads, along with all necessary manifold gaskets.
